Beginning in August 2010, students at the University of Houston have the option to rent textbooks for the semester from the UH Bookstore, which could save them 50 percent or more over new books. Approximately 56 percent of all courses at UH will have a textbook rental program associated with them. UH is part of a recently expanded on-campus bookstore pilot program operated by Barnes & Noble College Booksellers in an effort to give student more options in the wake of rising textbook and tuition costs.
