Weight train: Building muscle is incredibly important if you want to lose weight fast. Focusing strictly on your cardio exercises will not get the job done. You still must do cardio, however, building muscle is of a higher priority to effectively burn fat, and lose weight.

When you weight train, your muscles will require a ton of calories from your body to handle the stress from your workout....thus burning off a ton of calories.

Also, when you rest, your muscles are still burning calories during the recuperation phase. This is why it is so important to make sure you get plenty of sleep and to rest your muscles from your workout....to allow them to grow and recuperate.

Make sure you are getting plenty of protein daily. An adequate amount of protein will also aide in repairing your muscle tissue and will help in building muscle. I highly recommend to have a protein shake before AND after your workout for the best benefits.

As far as cardio, try to limit the amount of cardio you do to around 15-20 minutes per session. Also, try to high intense cardio to make sure you are receiving the benefits of cardio in such a short time frame. Some examples of high intensity cardio would be heavy bag boxing and incline treadmill.
