4 Steps To A V Shaped Torso

If you want to have a V shaped torso and get that classic body look then you are going to have to build big shoulders and a wide back. This article will look at the 4 steps you need to undertake to get the body shape of your dreams.

Work On You Shoulders

Having big shoulders is the first thing you need to work on to create a V shaped torso. The reason for this is obvious. The wider you are at the top of your body then the narrower you will look at the waist. You therefore need to make sure you dedicate a whole workout tragetting your shoulders once a week (and only once a week - when you do chest work you will also work your shoulders).

Work Your Back

You will also need to build a wide back that tapers down to your waist. To do this you will need to make the pull up bar your best friend. Use an overhand grip and make sure your hands are wider than shoulder width apart to reduce your reliance on your biceps and instead use your lat muscles. If you are finding using the bar too tough going then use a lat pull down machine to build up your strength before you move onto the bar.

Burn The Belly Fat

You will need to burn your belly fat if you want a V shaped torso. Doing short bursts of high intensity cardio burn more calories than slow and routine cardio work outs. Therefore alternate 20 seconds of all out effort with 10 seconds of recovery for 5 minute sets.

Stand Up Straight

This one is easy. By standing up straight and not slouching you will appear broader across your chest and narrower at your waist. It's also good for your posture and back muscles!
